Awareness

Awareness is a key objective of the International Oral Cancer Association.

The face of oral cancer continues to change. Oral cancer does not discriminate age, gender or race, it can effect anybody. Oral cancer is one of the few cancers still on the rise. One of the major contributors to increasing number of oral cancer patients is HPV, Human Papilloma Virus. The HPV related oral cancer is affecting our younger generation daily. It is easily transferable through oral sexual activities.

There is no real cure for oral cancer. The key to saving lives is through early detection. Public awareness helps to illuminate to those at risk, the symptoms of oral cancer and the signs to look for in order to detect this silent killer… before it is too late. It is crucial for parents to educate their children about oral cancer and causes of oral cancer especially HPV.
